Veles beats Ural to move into second place in Russia's First League

Moscow's Veles defeated Ural 2-1 in Yekaterinburg in the thirteenth round of Russia's First League. The visitors reached 26 points and second place.
Veles built its advantage before halftime. Dmitry Tikhiy scored an own goal in the sixteenth minute, before Artur Koloskov converted a penalty in the twenty-third. The scorer's surname is confirmed by Veles' club report and Championat's match record.
Ural reduced the deficit after the interval, with Silvije Begic scoring in the sixty-sixth minute. The hosts could not equalise. Veles' report highlighted a late save by goalkeeper Sergey Samok.
RIA Novosti said the victory ended a four-match winless run for Veles. Ural remained third with 25 points. On October 16, Veles is scheduled to host Shinnik, while Ural hosts Nizhny Novgorod in the next round.
