Tiruchi Airport concludes review of passenger facilities and services

Tiruchi International Airport concluded its Yatri Sewa Abhiyan 2026 campaign on October 10, with the Airports Authority of India reviewing passenger facilities and service quality using travellers’ feedback.
The nationwide initiative began locally on September 17. Airport Director G. Gopalakrishnan said feedback, observations and service measures had been assessed to identify areas needing further improvement. Assigned responsibilities, periodic reviews and coordination are intended to sustain the changes.
Inspections covered the city-side, terminal and airside areas. They examined cleanliness, hygiene, waste handling, seating, drinking water, signage and navigation. Flight information displays, baggage services, parking and transport connections were also reviewed.
Airlines, CISF, Customs, Immigration, ground handlers, housekeeping teams and other service providers participated. Joint inspections sought improvements in queue management, help desks and passenger information during delays and disruptions.
The director said local initiatives also addressed medical services, emergency preparedness and family-friendly amenities. Support for older travellers, passengers with reduced mobility and people flying for the first time was included.
The announcement describes completed checks and arrangements for continuing the work. It does not provide numerical measures of service improvement or a deadline for correcting every identified problem.
