Venezuela’s acting president projects 6.5% economic growth in third quarter

Venezuela’s acting president said the economy was expected to grow 6.5% in the third quarter of 2026, while oil-sector output had risen 8% so far this year.

Delcy Rodríguez gave the estimate at an event with business leaders. She said economic activity continued to recover after two powerful earthquakes in June, with gains in both oil and non-oil sectors. Reuters reported her remarks at a business forum in Caracas.

Venezuela currently produces about 1.25 million barrels of crude oil a day. Rodríguez also said the country expects to receive $12 billion in public and private financing over the next two years.

Her comments came as Washington seeks to secure steady Venezuelan crude supplies for U.S. refineries and encourage investment in the country’s energy industry following the U.S. capture of former President Nicolás Maduro in January.
