Voronezh beauty worker's social-contract fraud case dropped
Criminal proceedings against an eyelash specialist in Russia's Voronezh region have been discontinued after ombudsmen approached the Prosecutor General's Office, Yana Lantratova reported on October 12.
According to the human rights commissioner, the woman was accused of fraud in obtaining a social contract. The case arose because her income exceeded the permitted threshold by 168 rubles over three months.
Lantratova said the woman had fulfilled the contract's conditions and social welfare authorities had no complaints against her. The federal commissioner and Voronezh regional ombudsman Sergei Kanishchev asked prosecutors to examine the circumstances.
The commissioner's official website says the criminal proceedings were discontinued and the preventive measure against the woman was cancelled. She was also informed of her right to rehabilitation. The statement did not identify her, specify the preventive measure or disclose the legal grounds for closing the case.
