Mangaluru airport to add 14 weekly flights in winter schedule

Mangaluru International Airport says its winter timetable, due to begin in the last week of October, will raise scheduled weekly departures from 181 to 195, including new domestic links and more Gulf services.

The airport’s comparison with the current summer schedule lists three additional domestic departures a week, taking that total from 133 to 136, and 11 more international departures, from 48 to 59. The figures are weekly scheduled services.

Fly91 is set to start daily routes linking Mangaluru with Agatti in Lakshadweep and Pune. Air India Express plans three weekly flights to Hyderabad on a Boeing 737-8 and will add Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates as a new international route.

Air India Express is also due to resume flights to Kuwait and increase service to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Dubai. The airport says the carrier’s international departures from Mangaluru will rise from 34 to 45 a week. IndiGo plans more flights to Mumbai, while Air India Express will add frequencies on Bengaluru and Hyderabad routes.

Existing services to Dammam and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE, Doha and Muscat are listed as continuing through the season. The schedule announcement does not specify exact start dates for each route, so travellers should check with airlines before booking.
