Student injured in knife attack at Bengaluru park

A 22-year-old student from Kerala suffered a minor lip injury when she intervened in an argument between her friend and an unidentified man at Kanakadasa Park in Domlur.

Police said the woman was sitting in the park with her friend, also a student from Kerala, on the evening of October 6. A passerby approached them and questioned why they were there, prompting an argument between the man and the student.

During the dispute, the passerby allegedly pulled out a knife and tried to attack the male student, police said. The woman stepped in and was injured. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

The attacker fled. A case was registered at Halasuru police station, and police said the suspect had not been identified and was being traced. The Times of India separately reported, citing police, that the search for the man was continuing.
