Yessentuki fraud case over ineffective treatment costing 420 thousand rubles sent to court

A businesswoman in Yessentuki has been sent for trial on fraud charges over medical services. Investigators allege she received 420 thousand rubles from a patient while promising recovery from treatment that could not help him.

The Investigative Committee's Stavropol regional office said the contract was signed in June 2025. The man underwent seven procedures and died in August that year from a progressive illness.

Investigators allege that the businesswoman knew the treatment would not have the required effect but told the patient the paid procedures would fully restore his health.

She is charged under Part 3 of Article 159 of Russia's Criminal Code, covering large-scale fraud. The case has been sent to court for a hearing on its merits.
