Youth delegate calls on Merz to resign at Bonn conference

Youth delegate calls on Merz to resign at Bonn conference

Jan Pfadenhauer, a delegate to the CDU/CSU youth organisation, called on German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to resign at a conference in Bonn on October 17.

Speaking after the chancellor's address, Pfadenhauer criticised pension policy and rising government debt. He urged Merz to ask the federal president to release him from office.

The call came from one delegate rather than a decision by the organisation. Merz did not respond directly, speaking instead about the need for stable government.
