Vijayawada designates 40 parking sites for Dasara visitors

Police have mapped parking for visitors to Kanaka Durga Temple and the SARAS Mela, and announced traffic controls at several city locations for October 16.

The sites are intended for people travelling to the festivities, including visitors from Telangana, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Machilipatnam, Eluru and Guntur. Signboards will be placed on approach routes, and motorists can use a QR code and the Astram app to locate parking.

Vijayawada Police Commissioner S. V. Rajshekar Babu said traffic would be regulated and diverted on October 16 near Kummaripalem, Lodge outpost, the Kanaka Durga flyover, Gadda Bomma centre and the Old Police Control Room junction. Drivers should follow officers’ directions and temporary road signs.
