About 150 join pro-Palestinian demonstration in Prague

About 150 supporters of Palestine marched through central Prague on October 10, RIA Novosti reported, citing the Czech news agency CTK.

A rally at Peace Square featured former Czech ombudsman Anna Sabatova and representatives of student organisations. Speakers protested conditions in Gaza and criticised Czech politicians' approach to the conflict.

Participants described the situation in Gaza as genocide. That characterisation reflects the speakers' position as reported by the agency, rather than a legal finding established in the report.

After the rally, marchers continued through central streets, chanting calls for Palestinian freedom and slogans opposing the use of their taxes in connection with the conflict. Passersby reacted differently, with some encouraging participants and others booing them.

According to CTK, police prevented verbal disputes from developing into physical clashes. The report gave no information about arrests or injuries.
