Ukrainian officials report 20 killed in Zaporizhzhia strike

A Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia killed 20 people, including three children, on October 10, according to Ukrainian officials cited by Reuters and CBS News. Eighteen others were wounded.
Regional administration head Mykhailo Semikin said aerial bombs hit residential buildings. Reuters cited him as describing simultaneous strikes on several locations.
Missiles also hit Kyiv that day. Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported four wounded.
The attacks came a day after Donald Trump announced a deal for Russian diesel supplies. The US president described an initial shipment of more than 300,000 tonnes, followed by 500,000 in November and one million thereafter. He separately referred to another three million tonnes.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticised the agreement, arguing that export revenue would help Russia continue the war. On October 10, Trump demanded that Ukraine stop attacking Russian refineries and suggested it find a new leader.
The presidents’ statements reflect their positions. The casualty figures are attributed to Ukrainian authorities.
