Burnham and Zelenskyy agree to meet in coming days

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone on October 10 and agreed to continue their discussion in person.
Downing Street said Burnham acknowledged a difficult preceding 24 hours for Ukraine and reaffirmed his solidarity. The leaders discussed maintaining pressure on Russia.
Burnham said Britain would keep strengthening sanctions and taking action to constrain Russia’s military capabilities, building on new UK sanctions designations announced during the week.
Both leaders urged an immediate energy ceasefire, including an end to strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and attacks on shipping in the Black Sea.
Downing Street did not specify a date or location for the meeting. Its statement said the leaders would meet in the coming days.
