Air India and Akasa Air announce Riyadh cancellations through Oct. 10

Air India and Akasa Air suspended Riyadh flights through Oct. 10 after reports of explosions on Oct. 8. Lufthansa Group announced a longer suspension through Oct. 16.

Air India said its Delhi-to-Riyadh flight returned to Delhi on Oct. 8 and was cancelled for safety reasons. The carrier subsequently suspended all services to and from the Saudi capital through Saturday.

Akasa Air also announced cancellations through Saturday, Oct. 10. IndiGo's initial cancellations ran through Friday, Oct. 9. That deadline has now passed, but its expiry does not establish that services have actually resumed.

Lufthansa Group cited developments in the Middle East for its suspension through Oct. 16. Carrier-specific cancellations do not define an airport closure period: airlines make their own operating decisions.

India condemned attacks on Abha and King Khalid International Airport, calling attacks on civilian infrastructure unacceptable. The Houthis claimed missile strikes and disrupted aviation. Those claims about damage should be distinguished from cancellations confirmed by carriers.
