Alexandra Anufriyeva receives visa for gymnastics world championships

The Netherlands has issued Alexandra Anufriyeva a visa for the artistic gymnastics world championships in Rotterdam, the Russian Gymnastics Federation said on October 15.

The federation said Anufriyeva would travel to the Netherlands shortly. The sixteen-year-old won Russia's national vault title during the summer.

The Netherlands previously denied visas to Angelina Melnikova, Viktoria Listunova and Anna Kalmykova. Anufriyeva's approval concerns her own application. The international gymnastics federation expressed regret over the three refusals on October 14.

The Rotterdam championships will open team qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Under the competition directives, the three highest-ranked teams in each of the two team finals will secure Olympic places.
