Andrey Esionov watercolour exhibition opens in Moscow

Andrey Esionov's exhibition Moment and Eternity opened near Moscow's Victory Park on October 9. Admission is free at the pavilion at 3 Bratyev Fonchenko Street until January 31, 2027.

The exhibition brings together watercolours from the past decade, combining urban scenes with philosophical and religious themes. Curator Zelfira Tregulova headed the State Tretyakov Gallery from 2015 to 2023.

Esionov's work includes complex group compositions and psychological portraits exploring relationships, moral choices and the search for meaning. His works are held by the Russian Museum, Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Vatican museums. His solo projects have been shown in Paris, Rome, Florence and Venice.

The opening also introduced plans for an Andrey Esionov Gallery, initiated by the artist and collector Anvar Mametov. Future displays are intended to include paintings, graphic works, portraits of contemporaries and Gospel-themed pieces, alongside tours and educational events.

The space is envisaged as a nonprofit venue open to a broad public. It is linked to the Victory Gallery cultural cluster at Victory Park Residences. The project concept combines exhibition venues, educational programmes and leisure spaces, with Tregulova overseeing the artistic direction.
