Arkhangelsk governor reports rehousing progress for nearly 26,000 residents

Nearly 26,000 Arkhangelsk region residents have improved their housing conditions since the start of its unsafe-housing resettlement programme, Governor Aleksandr Tsybulsky said on October 14. He discussed the programme with Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

Tsybulsky said the region continues to build homes for relocated residents and use integrated development schemes. The figure covers the programme’s entire duration, rather than only 2026. He said new housing districts should receive the infrastructure residents need alongside their homes.

The meeting separately addressed utility modernisation, including heating, water supply and wastewater networks, as well as building boiler houses and converting them to biofuel. The governor linked their reliability to the demands of the region’s long Arctic winter.

The officials also discussed road construction and repairs, continued work on the M-8 Kholmogory highway and the Severodvinsk access road, and public transport renewal. Some projects are being delivered through the Infrastructure for Life national project with federal support.

Regional budget balance and utility tariff regulation were also on the agenda. The governor’s statement did not announce new tariff levels or additional funding amounts.
