Auger-Aliassime rallies past Ugo Carabelli in Shanghai

Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime reached the third round of the Shanghai Masters by beating Argentina’s Camilo Ugo Carabelli 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-5. The second-round contest lasted almost three hours.
After losing the opening set, Auger-Aliassime kept himself in the match by taking the second-set tie-break. He conceded only one point in it. The deciding set was also closely contested and ended 7-5.
Sport-Express reported that the Canadian hit 14 aces and made three double faults, while Ugo Carabelli served seven aces. Auger-Aliassime entered the match ranked sixth in the world, with the Argentine ranked 77th.
The Canadian’s next opponent was confirmed later in the day. Spain’s Pablo Carreño Busta beat Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, likewise recovering from the loss of the first set.
