Brazil's Federal Police launched Operation Magen against a group suspected of selling restricted firearms, leaking confidential security data and laundering more than 100 million reais for the TCP gang.
The operation began on Wednesday, October 7, in Rio de Janeiro state. CNN Brasil reported that police were executing seven preventive arrest warrants and 18 search-and-seizure warrants in Rio and cities in the metropolitan region.
Investigators link the suspects to Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP), which operates in the Complexo de Israel in the city's northern zone. The report said the operation was still being updated.
