The Court of Arbitration for Sport plans to issue a decision next week on the Russian Curling Federation’s appeal against the exclusion of adult athletes from international competitions.
CAS spokesperson Vanessa Tracy gave the expected timetable to RIA Novosti. The hearing on the appeal took place in Lausanne on Tuesday. The deadline for a ruling is Oct. 18.
The federation is challenging the extension of the ban on adult athletes. In August 2026, the World Curling Federation maintained the exclusion through the end of the year, despite recommendations from the International Olympic Committee to review restrictions.
In January 2026, World Curling allowed Russian and Belarusian junior athletes to return to international competition. Russian adult curlers have been out of international tournaments since 2022.
