Chernyshenko says nine in ten young Russians use AI

Nine in ten young Russians use artificial intelligence, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on October 9 at Digital Innopolis Days. He cited a figure of 93% during his address.

The Education Ministry's official account attributes the figures to monitoring by the Higher School of Economics. It also says four in five internet users use AI services. The two measures refer to different groups and should not be treated as a single estimate for Russia's entire population.

Chernyshenko warned that artificial intelligence could replace familiar work tasks faster than the economy creates new ones. He said education needed to respond to changes in work and prepare teachers for new requirements. The deputy prime minister presented the usage figures during a discussion of AI in education and science.
