Argentine model Chloé Bello said she felt humiliated during an appearance on radio host Matías Martin’s show. Martin said he had not intended to offend her and described their relationship as friendly.
After appearing on Todo Pasa on Urbana Play, Bello wrote on Instagram that she faced comments and provocations presented as humor during the interview. She said they felt like an attempt to ridicule her. Bello linked the episode to an earlier refusal of a personal invitation from Martin and said she viewed the conduct as especially troubling because it targeted a woman.
Martin responded to the allegations in comments to SQP on América TV. He said that he and Bello were friends, got along well and had exchanged messages after the interview. He also rejected the idea that he had asked her out romantically, saying they had coffee and met with friends.
Bello later told LAM that she had not expected the reaction and was not trying to provoke a media storm. She said she spoke because she found it difficult to remain silent about the experience and wanted to draw attention to behavior she considered inappropriate. Argentine broadcaster TN also reported on her statement and Martin’s response. The two described the on-air exchange differently.
