CNN warns of further legal action over Air Force One access
CNN may return to court if the White House continues to exclude its journalists from covering Donald Trump's travel aboard Air Force One. The network's lawyer raised the issue in a letter to the US Justice Department.
CNN says the exclusion prevents it from fulfilling its duties in the presidential press pool. Its lawyer asked for access to accompany the president to be restored.
The dispute began after Trump barred CNN, MS NOW and Politico from working at the White House on September 18, accusing them of spreading false news. The outlets sued, arguing that the ban violated freedom of speech protected by the US Constitution's First Amendment.
A federal judge suspended the ban while the case proceeds. That decision preserves access to the White House grounds, while CNN's participation in presidential aircraft trips remains contested.
