UK police re-arrest two men in RAF Fairford investigation
British police re-arrested two men in the investigation into an incident near RAF Fairford, this time on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service.
Counter Terrorism Policing said the arrests were made under Section 3 of the National Security Act. Police said the investigation relates to Iran.
Seven men had previously been arrested on suspicion of involvement in a suspected terror plot and subsequently released on bail. Two of them are now back in custody.
British authorities have linked the September incident to Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has denied his country’s involvement.
