Criminal case opened after mother and child killed in Domodedovo crash

A criminal case has been opened after a dump-truck crash in Domodedovo. Moscow region prosecutors confirmed that the victims were a 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son.
The truck overturned onto the passenger car driven by the woman. The crash occurred on October 13. Police initially said the truck driver had lost control of the vehicle.
Investigators opened the case under Part 5 of Article 264 of Russia's Criminal Code, covering a breach of traffic and vehicle-operation rules that negligently causes the deaths of two or more people.
The Domodedovo city prosecutor's office is overseeing the investigation and the establishment of the circumstances. Opening the case is not a final finding of the driver's guilt. Investigators must establish why the truck overturned and how the crash occurred.
