Daccord becomes 190th NHL goaltender beaten by Ovechkin

Joey Daccord became the 190th different NHL goaltender to concede a regular-season goal to Alexander Ovechkin when Washington faced Seattle on October 11.

Ovechkin scored in the first period, in the 17th minute of the game. It was Daccord’s fifth regular-season appearance against the Capitals in a game involving the Russian forward.

The goal extended Ovechkin’s own league record for the number of different goaltenders he has scored against. It also brought his regular-season goal total to 930 in 1,577 games.

The 41-year-old is playing his 22nd NHL season, having spent his entire league career with Washington. He has said he will end his North American career after this season.

Wayne Gretzky held the previous regular-season goals record with 894 in 1,487 games. The different-goaltenders milestone measures a separate aspect of Ovechkin’s scoring career.
