Titans retain Cam Ward as starting quarterback after fifth defeat
Tennessee Titans coach Robert Saleh said Cam Ward would remain the team’s starting quarterback after a 26–3 home defeat to the Houston Texans on October 11. Tennessee has lost all five games this season.
Saleh said the team would keep working with Ward and give him opportunities to improve rather than remove him from the lineup. The quarterback is in his second NFL season after being selected first overall in the 2025 draft.
Against Houston, Ward completed 23 of 36 passes for 170 yards without a touchdown. He threw one interception and was sacked four times.
Ward said he believed in his preparation and in the teammates around him. He acknowledged that criticism comes with the position and said the group would eventually put its performances together. Saleh’s postgame comments confirm that Ward retains the starting role for now.
