Hurricane Isaias has been linked to at least four deaths in Florida and Alabama, according to Associated Press. Two victims died when trees fell onto homes.

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons reported that a woman died when a tree struck her home. Authorities later confirmed a second storm-related death in the same Florida county after a man was found inside a closed garage with a generator running.

In Birmingham, a person died after a tree fell onto a house. Local authorities reported the fatality, and Associated Press cited confirmation from the city’s fire chief, Cory Moon. Another death in Alabama was linked to a vehicle crash involving a fallen tree in Barbour County.

The storm reached the coast near Destin, Florida, on October 10 in UTC. Strong winds and rain accompanied its passage through the region. Authorities in Florida and Alabama reported fatalities in separate incidents as emergency crews dealt with the storm’s effects.
