Delta flight from New York to Tel Aviv checked after anonymous threat

A Delta aircraft was held before departure from New York to Tel Aviv after a telephone bomb threat, The Jerusalem Post reported on October 14. It was cleared to depart after inspection.
According to the newspaper, the flight was held at John F. Kennedy International Airport while US security authorities checked the aircraft. Continuing the flight also required clearance from Israeli security.
It was the second threat involving a Delta flight on the route within a day. On Tuesday, a separate aircraft arriving from New York at Ben-Gurion Airport was checked after an anonymous warning. The Israel Airports Authority said nothing suspicious was found in that incident.
The newspaper reported that authorities were considering whether one person made both calls. The published account did not identify the caller. An anonymous threat and security inspection do not establish that an explosive device was actually aboard.
