Drobysh says he has no interest in Eurovision's future

Producer and composer Viktor Drobysh says he dislikes Eurovision and has no interest in its future. He expressed that view in a RIA Novosti interview published on October 9.
Drobysh was answering a question about the music competition's prospects. His statement is a personal assessment rather than a prediction about organisers' decisions or the event's future. The European Broadcasting Union oversees the contest, and Russia does not participate.
The interview came amid disputes over Israel's participation. Spain, Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands and Slovenia stayed out of the 2026 contest. Ireland's broadcaster has also announced that it will not participate in 2027.
The next contest is planned for Burgas in Bulgaria. Czechia has also withdrawn from the 2027 event, but that decision should not automatically be attributed to the same boycott. Drobysh's remarks do not announce a new withdrawal by any country.
