Mysuru clears waste from Outer Ring Road ahead of Dasara

Mysuru City Corporation and neighbouring local authorities carried out a large clean-up along the Outer Ring Road on October 10 before Dasara festivities were scheduled to begin on Sunday.
The operation began at 6.30 a.m. under MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha. It was the second drive along the road in ten days.
Teams removed rubbish, plastic waste, construction and demolition debris and other discarded materials from the roadside. District minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah had directed the clean-up while reviewing festival preparations.
Savitha inspected work at several locations and instructed officials to prevent unauthorised dumping. She asked them to maintain cleanliness throughout the festival and coordinate with neighbouring urban local bodies.
MCC said it was preparing to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors in a clean, attractive environment. It urged residents not to dump rubbish along the road and to cooperate with municipal workers.
The operation involved Urban Development Cell project director B.R. Roopa, Taluk Panchayat executive officer Krishna, superintending engineer Sindhu and Hootagalli municipal commissioner Narasimha Murthy.
MCC environmental executive engineer K.S. Mruthyunjaya, Zone-5 assistant commissioner Manjunath Reddy and Zone 8 assistant commissioner Somashekar also participated, alongside local authority heads, environmental engineers, health inspectors, supervisors and sanitation workers.
