Riyadh airport attack kills 12 and wounds more than 300

An attack on Riyadh's international airport on October 10 killed 12 people and injured more than 300, Reuters and AP reported, citing Saudi aviation authorities.
Reuters initially reported a loud explosion, citing a witness and people briefed on the incident. Authorities subsequently announced the casualties. Reuters put the latest official injury count at 309.
A Saudi-led coalition blamed the strike on the Houthi movement in Yemen. Reuters said the Houthis had not claimed responsibility for this attack at the time of its report.
Airport operations were suspended. AP, citing Flightradar24, reported that the closure had been extended until at least Sunday evening, October 11. Earlier, the airport advised passengers to contact their airlines and check flight status before travelling to the facility.
