Brendan Allen submits Christian Leroy Duncan in Las Vegas

Brendan Allen defeated Christian Leroy Duncan by submission in the fifth round of their UFC main event at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on October 10.
Sherdog reported that Allen finished the fight with a rear-naked choke at 2:46 of the final round, taking his professional record to 28 wins and seven losses. Duncan's record fell to 15 wins and three defeats.
Before the bout, Allen told The Times of India he wanted an opponent higher in the middleweight rankings but had accepted Duncan to stay active. He said he still hoped to fight former champion Dricus du Plessis.
Allen entered the contest after three consecutive victories, including a unanimous-decision win over Edmen Shahbazyan in June. Duncan arrived on a five-fight winning streak. The result gives Allen a fourth successive victory as he pursues a chance to challenge for the title.
