Siva Krishnamurthy takes office as Theni district Collector

Siva Krishnamurthy took charge as Collector of Theni district in India's Tamil Nadu state on October 10. The district's official website lists him as its new administrative head.
A member of the 2017 Indian Administrative Service intake, Krishnamurthy previously served as joint managing director of TWAD. His earlier postings included Erode Corporation Commissioner and assignments in Cheranmahadevi and Villupuram.
Speaking to journalists, he said the district administration would remain accessible to residents and continue implementing government welfare programmes. He thanked Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for the opportunity to serve the public.
Departmental officials briefed the new Collector on development projects already under way. He later visited a special registration camp for first-time voters at a school in Andipatti, The Hindu reported, citing a press release.
