Ducks spend 15 hours travelling before Rangers game
The Anaheim Ducks took 15 hours to reach the New York area after changing airports and encountering an aircraft fault. The team still attended its scheduled morning skate before facing the Rangers.
The Ducks were due to fly from Santa Ana on Sunday, but their aircraft was diverted to Los Angeles. They travelled there by bus, RBC reported, citing the NHL.
The aircraft in Los Angeles could not depart because of a mechanical problem. After waiting for a replacement, the team finally flew to Newark that evening.
They landed almost two hours after midnight local time. Reaching the hotel took another 45 minutes.
The Ducks have three more road games scheduled after their meeting with the Rangers.
