Electric public transport halted in three Kyiv districts amid voltage disruption

Kyivpastrans said some public transport services were temporarily suspended in the Obolonsky, Podilsky and Sviatoshynsky districts. The company cited a lack of voltage in the power system.

The transport company's statement on the morning of October 9 was also reported by LB.ua. The outlet later said the city funicular had stopped as well. Kyivpastrans said it would update passengers on the resumption of service and further changes to transport operations.

The disruption followed outages in Kyiv the previous day. According to LB.ua, the metro was temporarily halted on the evening of October 8 because of insufficient voltage. Service resumed on all lines by 19:24, although trains were delayed. DTEK also reported emergency power cuts in the city on Thursday.

RIA Novosti additionally relayed accounts from local online communities about unscheduled outages and Ukrainian media reports of widespread transport disruption, interruptions to water and sewage services, and a loss of power at the Verkhovna Rada building. LB.ua's report on the electric-transport suspension did not confirm those wider effects.
