Kyivpastrans reported a temporary suspension of some services in the Obolonskyi, Podilskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts on the morning of October 9 because of a loss of power-system voltage.
Some public transport services were suspended in three Kyiv districts on Friday morning, October 9. The municipal operator Kyivpastrans said the cause was a lack of voltage in the power system.
The restrictions affected the Obolonskyi, Podilskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Ukrainian and international news agencies also reported the operator’s update that morning.
The previous day, trains stopped on all three metro lines because of a loss of voltage, and escalators were temporarily out of service. A day earlier, Mayor Vitali Klitschko had reported a power outage and water-supply disruptions on the right bank of the Dnipro River.
Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said on October 8 that electricity supply had been disrupted after an attack on an energy facility important to Kyiv. At the time of Kyivpastrans’s notice, the transport restrictions remained in place in the named districts.
