EU awards €30 million to Finnish TNT factory project

Finland's TNT factory project in Pori has received €30 million under the EU's defence industry programme, the Finnish Defence Ministry announced on October 14.
Forcit is building the facility to supply Finland and NATO. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2028. The Finnish ministry says the plant will become the European Union's second TNT producer, alongside an existing manufacturer in Poland.
The United States announced $20 million in support for the project in September. On October 9, the Finnish government approved a grant of €18.255 million to Forcit Pori Oy Ab. Its announcement explains that this is the American contribution being passed to the company through the Finnish state.
