Firefighters extinguish cabin fire on Moscow's Nizhniye Polya Street

A fire in construction cabins on Nizhniye Polya Street in southeastern Moscow has been extinguished, the city's emergencies department said on 9 October. It had received no reports of injuries.
An emergency services representative earlier told RIA Novosti that the fire covered about 200 square metres. The representative said two-tier cabins were burning beside an administrative building at 29 Nizhniye Polya Street, building 1. Flames were spreading along the upper tier.
People were evacuated from the neighbouring building during the initial response. The emergencies department later said firefighters had promptly extinguished the blaze. Its update was published at 13:01 Moscow time.
The department confirmed the location and that the fire had been extinguished. It did not specify the cause or the number of people evacuated. The estimate of 200 square metres appeared in the initial emergency services account reported by RIA Novosti.
