Flybondi drew 10,237 of the 14,946 complaints about air transport filed from January to July 2026, according to data obtained by La Nación through a public-information request. Passengers most often complained about cancellations and missing refunds.
La Nación reported that Flybondi canceled 2,325 flights during the period and did not refund passengers for the canceled trips. Air transport rose to second place among sectors in complaints filed with Argentina’s consumer protection office. A year earlier it ranked eighth, while Flybondi itself was ninth among companies. It now ranks first. Jetsmart Airlines is 16th, with 1,531 complaints.
Complaints against Flybondi began increasing in December 2025 and averaged about 1,600 a month from March 2026, according to the data cited by La Nación. At least half concerned canceled or suspended flights. Other frequent reasons included payments that were not recognized, delays in processing service cancellations and promotional offers that were not honored. By the rate of complaints per 1,000 total complaints, the most affected provinces were Jujuy, San Juan, Río Negro, Salta and Santiago del Estero.
The consumer group Adduc told the newspaper that customers who did not receive refunds could wait five to 10 years for payment through insolvency proceedings. Tourism lawyer Santiago Aramburu said passengers who paid for canceled trips might have to seek compensation through court or insolvency proceedings. Those are assessments by consumer advocates, not a court ruling.
Argentina’s consumer protection office registered 158,091 complaints across all sectors from January to July. Financial services and insurance led with 34,273. Air transport was followed by communications with 13,695 complaints and payment services with 10,451. A year earlier, air transport was eighth in the sector ranking.
El País, citing the Adventus consultancy, reported that Flybondi canceled more than 2,500 flights between June 2025 and May 2026, affecting over 350,000 passengers. In January 2026, Argentina’s civil aviation authority said it had opened violation proceedings against the airline over commercial flights canceled without prior notice.
