Forecaster predicts possible thunderstorm and rain in Moscow
Parts of Moscow and the surrounding region could experience an unusual October thunderstorm on the morning of October 12, Phobos weather centre specialist Yevgeny Tishkovets said in a forecast issued on October 11.
The region will be in the warm sector of an Atlantic cyclone, he said. Monday is expected to be overcast and rainy, with 3–5 litres of precipitation per square metre. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 13–16 degrees Celsius.
Rain is expected to intensify on Tuesday, October 13, as a cold front moves through. Tishkovets forecasts up to 15 litres per square metre over 18 hours, with temperatures remaining between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius throughout the day.
According to his forecast, rain will ease on Wednesday and Thursday, with some clearer spells. Temperatures are expected to range from 6 to 9 degrees at night and 9 to 12 during the day. He predicts improving weather by Friday and daytime temperatures of up to 14 degrees.
