Friday becomes week's warmest day ahead of cooling

October 9 was Moscow's warmest day of the week, forecaster Alexander Golubev said. He reported 16.6°C during the day and considered 17°C possible. A later Hydrometeorological Centre report described 18°C in the Moscow region.

Golubev considered another spell of such warmth before the end of October unlikely. The later regional temperature was reported by Lyudmila Parshina.

Speaking to Interfax, Parshina forecast cooler weekend weather. Saturday was expected to bring daytime temperatures of 11–13°C, some light rain and southwesterly gusts up to 17 metres per second. These were forecasts, while the daytime readings described conditions when reported.
