Gazeks workers sentenced to six years over fatal Nizhny Tagil blast

Nizhny Tagil’s Dzerzhinsky District Court sentenced a Gazeks supervisor and two fitters to six years each in a general-regime penal colony over a gas explosion, the Sverdlovsk regional courts’ press service said.

The explosion struck a five-storey apartment building in Nizhny Tagil in 2024, killing 11 people.

The owner of the apartment where the explosion occurred received three years of restricted freedom.
