Nizhny Tagil court denies parole to Valentin Bereznitsky
The Tagilstroyevsky District Court in Nizhny Tagil denied parole to Valentin Bereznitsky, who was convicted of sexual offences against five women in the Tomsk region, the regional prosecutor's office said.
In February 2024, the Strezhevoy City Court sentenced him to 13.5 years in a general-regime penal colony for rape and other violent sexual offences. The crimes took place in Strezhevoy between September 2004 and September 2016.
The prosecutor and the prison administration opposed early release. The court took their position into account when deciding on the petition.
Bereznitsky had 3 years, 10 months and 25 days left to serve when the petition was considered, according to the prosecutor's office.
