Golikova proposes broader Russian and Chinese school reading lists

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova has proposed considering a reciprocal expansion of Russian and Chinese works in the two countries' general education programmes. She spoke after a bilateral humanitarian cooperation commission meeting, Interfax reported.

The proposal covers both countries. Golikova linked it to studying their literary heritage and strengthening bilateral ties.

She also reviewed progress during the cross-years of education cooperation in 2026–2027. More than 90 events have taken place under the Russian programme, she said.

Bilateral university cooperation documents now number more than 7000, according to Golikova. She highlighted the joint university established by Moscow State University and Beijing Institute of Technology in Shenzhen.

Kazan is due to host an anniversary forum of Russian and Chinese specialist university associations in a month's time. Golikova said Science and Higher Education Minister Valery Falkov would lead the Russian delegation.
