Krasnikov says some Russian schools have begun testing new textbooks

Some Russian schools have begun trials of new standard textbooks in mathematics and the sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences President Gennady Krasnikov told RIA Novosti. Feedback from schools will be considered during development.
The academy is participating in the creation of mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry and biology textbooks for middle and upper secondary grades. Krasnikov said development follows a schedule, with the books due to undergo trials in 2027.
The current work is starting in selected schools. The academy president did not specify their number or locations in the interview, or announce a nationwide switch to the new books. The initial trials involve assessing the materials with feedback from schools.
The education ministry previously announced joint work with the academy on state textbooks in these five subjects. Minister Sergey Kravtsov said the books should include links between disciplines and align with unified educational programmes.
