Heavy rain warning remains in force for Moscow region until Monday morning

Heavy rain is forecast in parts of the Moscow region until 10 a.m. on October 12. The regional emergency ministry warning began at 10 p.m. the previous evening.

The ministry cited a forecast from the Central Administration for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring. It posted the alert on October 11 through its official regional channel on the Max platform.

The warning concerns parts of the region. The announcement did not list specific towns or give an expected rainfall total. The forecast is not a report of flooding or damage already having occurred.

The regional emergency department urged residents to remain alert, exercise caution and follow safety rules. It advised calling the unified emergency number 112 if an emergency arises. The warning period ends at the stated morning deadline.
