Hyundai registers two Genesis trademarks in Russia

Hyundai obtained registration for two trademarks bearing the Genesis logo in Russia, valid until 2034. Rospatent records reviewed by RIA Novosti show that the approvals were issued in October 2026.

The company filed the applications in August 2024. The registrations cover branding for vehicle navigation devices, speakers and media players, batteries and headphones. They also include online access to multimedia content for vehicles.

Registration protects use of the trademarks for the relevant goods and services. It does not announce that sales have begun or that Hyundai has resumed vehicle production in Russia. Vedomosti reported the same decisions on October 9.

Hyundai Motor announced in late 2023 that it would sell its Saint Petersburg factory to Art-Finance, AGR's parent company. The transaction closed in early 2024. At the time, Hyundai said it retained a two-year buyback option. The new Genesis registrations do not establish that such a buyback has occurred.
