IEA estimates Russian oil export revenue rose to $17.67 billion in September

Russia’s revenue from crude oil and petroleum-product exports rose to $17.67 billion in September 2026, the International Energy Agency estimated. Export volumes remained close to their August level.
Monthly revenue increased by $3.58 billion from August and $4.32 billion from September 2025, according to the IEA. The agency attributed the increase primarily to higher global prices for crude oil and petroleum products.
Combined exports totalled 6.52 million barrels a day, down 970,000 barrels a day from a year earlier. Crude exports rose to 5.28 million barrels a day, up 60,000 from August and 120,000 from the previous September.
Petroleum-product exports fell to 1.24 million barrels a day. That was 80,000 below August and 1.1 million below September 2025. Higher revenue therefore does not imply an increase in physical shipments across all categories of Russian oil exports.
