Igdisamov clarifies Akinfeev's role in discussions over Borisko transfer

CSKA coach Dmitry Igdisamov said he discussed strengthening the goalkeeping position with Igor Akinfeev. However, he rejected reports suggesting the captain had to approve Maksim Borisko as a specific recruit, Sport-Express reported.
In the interview, Igdisamov explained that he and Akinfeev agreed the position needed reinforcement. He said that discussion did not amount to a process in which the goalkeeper approved or rejected individual players.
The interview question concerned Borisko's recruitment against the background of Akinfeev's injury. In the published passage, the coach clarified the nature of his conversation with the captain and challenged the version he said had appeared in some media reports.
Borisko joined CSKA from Baltika during the last transfer window. According to Sport-Express, the 26-year-old Russian goalkeeper has played three games for his new club and conceded four goals. The coach's comments concern a transfer that has already taken place.
