Israel forecast: temperatures edge higher, with light rain possible in the south

Temperatures in most parts of Israel are expected to remain seasonal on Thursday, Oct. 8, with clear to partly cloudy skies. Ynet’s forecast calls for a slight warm-up on Saturday and possible light showers in the south over the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly during the day, with stronger northerly winds along the coastal plain from the afternoon. Friday should bring little change. Saturday will be a little warmer, especially in the mountains and inland areas.

Light local showers may develop in the southern Negev and Arava on Saturday afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to fall on Sunday, particularly in the mountains and inland, returning to seasonal levels. Afternoon showers may affect the Jordan Valley, Judean Desert, Dead Sea area, southern Negev and Arava.

Thursday’s forecast highs include 26 C in Jerusalem, 28 C in Tel Aviv and Ashdod, 27 C in Haifa, 34 C in Tiberias and 33 C in Eilat. Beit She’an is forecast to reach 35 C. Ynet attributed the forecast to the Israel Meteorological Service.
